World Book Day is celebrated on April 23rd every year, also known as World Book and Copyright Day. The motive to celebrate this Day is to encourage Reading, Publishing, and Copyright.
It commemorates the birthdays or deaths of well-known authors, such as William Shakespeare and Miguel de Cervantes. Individuals of all ages get together to recognize the importance of books and the enduring contributions writers have made to advancing culture and society.
History of World Book and Copyright Day
On April 23, 1995, UNESCO created World Book Day as a way to promote reading and books around the world. More than 100 countries worldwide observe World Book Day. This day has been picked to promote reading among all people and to honor its literary value. Authors’ contributions to the advancement of culture and society are also acknowledged. The significance of books, the nature of reading, and authors’ rights to their creations are all honored to this day.
World Book Day Activities For Kids
1. Read Books
One must recognize the significance of reading to youngsters. A child’s education, social and cognitive growth, general well-being, and mental health can all be enhanced by reading. So encourage your kids to read books and help them to get interested in books.

2. Play Quiz
This could be one of the Interesting World Book Day activities. One week before World Book Day ask your kids to read 3-4 books according to their interest or related to some specific category “Things That Go”, or their favorite character books, and tell them they have a Quiz on World Book Day. On World Book Day arrange a Quiz related to their last week’s reads.
